要旨

居住選択と結婚は家族形成の根本的意思決定であり、親の庇護と結婚の利得の間にトレードオフが生じる。本研究は、異質的な主体による簡潔なマクロ経済モデルを提示し、日本のマイクロデータを用いて双方を同時に分析する。意思決定メカニズムを支配する要素として、本論文では、高い居住コストによる規模の経済の強さ、居住選択に係る女性の結婚時の交渉力の低さ、男女の賃金格差とキャリア中断費用の3つの可能性を取り上げる。シミュレーションの結果からは、高い居住コストは結婚と親からの独立を遠ざけ、交渉構造は独身と親との同居を後押しする一方、賃金構造は相対的に弱い影響しか持たないことが示唆される。また、選好パラメタの推定値からは、人々は義理の親と同居しないことを好み、実家を出ることを望む一方、配偶者との結婚は選好することが示唆される。
