要旨

本稿では、日本の高齢者の貯蓄取り崩し行動についてミクロデータを用いた分析を行った。「家計調査」によると、高齢者世帯の平均貯蓄率は負であるが、年齢別にみるとその形状にはＵ字型が見られ世帯主が高齢になるにつれゼロに近づく。金融資産取り崩しのスピードは単純なライフサイクル仮説と比べ緩慢であり、実物資産を考慮しても同様である。高齢者世帯の資産取り崩しが緩慢な要因について考察するため、「JSTAR(くらしと健康の調査)」によりどのような高齢者世帯で貯蓄率が高いか（及び資産取り崩しが緩慢か）をみると、遺産動機の有無により差がみられる可能性がある一方で、予備的貯蓄動機については、遺産を残す予定のない高齢者世帯において差がみられる可能性が示唆された。
